Birch fire incident: Goa govt challenges bail granted to Luthra brothers, co-owner Ajay Gupta

Digital Goa, May 20 – Goa government has moved the High Court seeking cancellation of the bail granted to Birch by Romeo Lane owners Saurabh and Saurav Luthra, as well as co-owner Ajay Gupta, in connection with the December 6 fire tragedy that claimed 25 lives. High Court has issued notices to the respondents, returnable on June 15, and directed that the notices be served through the concerned police station. The State has challenged the April 1, 2026 order granting bail to the Luthra brothers and the March 23 order granting bail to Gupta. The matter is scheduled for hearing on June 15.
