Digital Goa, Mar 7- Union government cabinet today granted approval to readjustment of the seats in the Goa Legislative Assembly for providing reservations to the Scheduled Tribes of the State. Briefing media after cabinet decision union minister Piyush Goyal informed that the cabinet has decided to bring a legislation in the parliament to facilitate the reservation of seats in Goa assembly for STs based on their population. The Census Commission will be asked to notify the Scheduled Tribe population of Goa and further the Election Commission will be asked for reservation of seats for STs based on revised data, Goyal said. The population of ST community is expected to be around 1.5 lakh, he added.
