Digital Goa, June 30 – Goa reported second highest daily rainfall of the season yesterday with heavy downpour recorded in coastal talukas. With 90 mm daily average rain reported in 24 hours from 8.30 am yesterday to 8.30 am today, the rain deficit has further reduced to 28.3 percent. Goa received 655 mm rain since June 1, 2023. The highest rainfall of 147 mm was reported at Mapusa station followed by 141.8 mm at Mormugao and 141 mm at Dabolim. Panaji received 118.6 mm rain in last 24 hours. Quepem recorded least rain of 20 mm.
Incessant rain has continued to ruffle normal life in Goa with several incidents of trees being uprooted, vehicle and house damage etc being reported from across the state. A mango tree got uprooted and fell on pathway damaging water pipe line near T B Hospital at Chincholem, Tambdi Mati today morning. In another incident, branch of tree fell on car and electrical line at Permer, St. Cruz. A coconut tree fell on house near Datta temple at Chincholem, Bhatlem.
