Digital Goa, August 4 – Goa Congress Executive Committee has expelled Shamila Siddiqui and Manisha Usgaonkar from the party for six years, acting on the recommendations of its Disciplinary Committee, informed Congress in a media briefing today. In a statement, the party said the decision followed disciplinary proceedings initiated over complaints alleging anti-party activities and statements made by the two leaders in the media. Reacting to the development, Manisha Usgaonkar said she learnt about her expulsion through media reports and added that she is likely to seek legal recourse in the matter.
