Nov 21 – Duo Ramesh Rao and Shakil Shaikh arrested for cheating several people by taking money and illegally selling govt land to them at Cuchelim, have been remanded to 14-days judicial custody by Mapusa Court. Mapusa police had arrested the duo and booked 4 others identified as Raju Manrekar from Carmurlim, Raja Anthony from Karaswada ,Norbbat and Ravi who are allegedly members of Communidade of Cuchelim. The accused persons cheated the complainants to the tune of Rs 38.49 lakh and promised that they will carry out the documentary formalities to transfer the rights in the name of the complainant, informed police.
