GOA-SEIAA to verify site condition of Rs 305 crore five star resort project proposed by GTDC at Anjuna

Digital Goa, June 23 – Goa State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (GOA-SEIAA) will carry out site inspection of the place where Goa Tourism Development Corporation(GTDC) has proposed to set up a five star resort at Anjuna, to verify the site conditions. The decision was taken in GOA-SEIAA meeting held earlier this month where granting of Environment Clearance(EC) for the project came for discussion. The project is proposed to come up at 7.0462 hectare land at Anjuna at an approximate cost of Rs 305.08 crore. The Authority has also directed GTDC to submit the details of activities to be undertaken under Corporate Environment Responsibility (CER) and also to explore the possibility of increasing the solar panel area and include indigenous plants species in the list of species to be planted. Goa state expert appraisal committee (Goa-SEAC) had, in May this year recommend an EC for the Project. GTDC proposes to develop five star resort at Survey No. 206/1-H, 210/5-A, 211/1, 211/2, 211/3, 211/4, 211/5, 211/6, 211/7, 211/8, 212/1, 212/2, 212/3, 212/4 & 212/6, in Anjuna village.
