Sept 30 – Expert Appraisal Committee(EAC) of Union Environment Ministry has recommend the proposal for amending the Terms of Reference(ToR) in view of involvement of 21.133 ha forest land in the Mining Lease area of Kalay Mineral Block- Block IV at Sanguem.
EAC has recommended the proposal for amendment in the ToR dated 8.01.2024 for Kalay Mineral Block- Block IV (Auction Block) of M/s Fomento Resources Private Limited for mining of Iron Ore with in the mine lease area of 152.5073 Ha, located at Village Santona, Sanguem Taluka. The Project Proponent presented their case before EAC for amending the ToR, highlighting the involvement of 21.133 hectares of forest land within the Mine Lease area. EAC has recommended the proposal with specific conditions such as submission of the stage-1 Forest Clearance for the diversion of the forest area of 21.133 ha lying within the Mining Lease area, Submission of the revised Mine Plan at the time of Environmental Clearance application, incorporating the newly identified forest area of 21.133 hectares etc.
