Digital Goa, August 13 – Fatorda Police have arrested eight men for allegedly attacking Yuvkesh Singh and his friend Rafiq near Sagun Restaurant, Mungul, in the early hours of August 12. The arrested accused are identified as Rashul Shaikh (23), Wilson Carvalho (25), Shahrukh Shaikh (26), Mohammed Ali (24), Suraj Maaji (19), Gaurang Korgaonkar (24), Vasu Kumar (24), and Malik Shaikh (18) — all remanded to five days of police custody. Efforts are on to trace the remaining accused. The accused, along with around 15 other men, allegedly used weapons, soda bottles, and a koyta to assault the victims, and one masked assailant fired two gunshots at Singh’s car. Forensic teams recovered a live round, empty cartridge, glass pieces, and blood samples from the scene. A police team of 17 personnel from multiple police stations including Margao Town, Fatorda, Maina Curtorim, Colva, and Cuncolim worked in tandem to nab the accused.
