Digital Goa, Feb 29 – Goa govt has relaunched scheme to promote electric vehicles (EVs) in the state. Govt will provide a subsidy between Rs 8,000 and up to Rs 1 lakh to purchase, avail retrofitting benefits, scrapping and de-registration of old internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and for the purchase of new EVs. The subsidy will be applicable for the purchase of around 5,650 EVs – 5000 two wheelers, 50 three wheelers and 600 four-wheelers. The Scheme for promotion of electric vehicles which was earlier launched in December 2021 was discontinued on July 31, 2022. Under the relaunched scheme, Financial Assistance will be provided for vehicles purchased from 1st August, 2022 to 31st December, 2024.
