Digital Goa, June 30 – A 61-year-old Curca resident was allegedly cheated of ₹1.46 lakh by a fraudster posing as an Army officer after responding to his house rental advertisement on real estate portal on May 31. The accused first gained the complainant’s trust by refunding a ₹5 verification payment before inducing him to transfer ₹81,000, ₹15,000 and ₹50,000 in separate transactions on the promise of returning the money. Agacaim Police are investigating the case.
