Digital Goa, Aug 25 – Goa FDA has intensified its food safety crackdown, destroying 225 kg of unlabeled frozen jamun worth ₹50,000intercepted at the Mapusa interstate bus stand. The consignment had arrived from Pune allegedly for ice-cream preparation and distribution. The local hotel that booked it was found operating without FSSAI registration and fined ₹10,000, while action will be sought against the Pune supplier through Maharashtra FDA, informed officials.Two restaurants were directed to suspend operations over unhygienic conditions. Operations of online grocery delivery platform units in Porvorim and Taleigao were also suspended over serious hygiene lapses. In a separate check targeting milk products, around 100 kg of improperly labelled and stored khoya worth ₹28,000, transported from Bengaluru to Margao, was seized and found unfit for use.
