Digital Goa, 9 July – Cabinet approved the Goa Animal Breeding, Domestication, Regulation & Compensation Bill, 2025 today. The same will be introduced in the upcoming Assembly session starting July 21. The proposed legislation aims to regulate animal breeding and ownership in the state and includes a ban on certain aggressive dog breeds such as Pit Bulls and Rottweilers. The bill also provides for compensation in cases of animal attacks and outlines guidelines for the domestication of animals.

▪️ River Navigation Department to be renamed as Inland Waterways Department, bifurcated from Captain of Ports
▪️ Approval for the appointment of 170 specialists, consultants, technicians, and staff nurses (including 100 nurses) under the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) on a contract basis until regular posts are filled.
▪️ Formation of Goa State National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell and recruitment of staff
▪️ Amendment to Factories & Boilers Act for EoDB
▪️ Approval for 13 posts to be created in public prosecution, 4 contractual posts in IT Startup Promotion Cell , Over 10 post approved for Dental College

▪️ Goa cabinet has given nod for Goa Vehicle Authentication (GoVA) System in Goa, under a revenue sharing model. The system aims to enhance vehicle authentication processes and will likely involve the integration of Goa Vahan, the state’s vehicle registration system, and the Goa Police.
▪️ Approved the allotment of 800 square metres of land in Tuem for the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to set up a Non-Communicable Disease Screening (NCDS) centre.
