Digital Goa, Feb 4 – Goa Road Safety Forum has expressed serious concerns over the rising accidents in the state and asked the government to implement the concept of 4 E’s – Education, Enforcement, Engineering, and Emergency prepared by United Nations, in the state of Goa to reduce road accidents. President of GRSF Dilip Naik told media that the effective implementation of 4E concept in the state will bring down the number of accidents by half. He expressed anguish that the state government failed to consider this world wide accepted concepts despite giving severals memorandums. Listing out slew of measures he said, license issuance process needs to be made more stringent and should not focus on mere driving skills. Violators should feel the threat of being penalised. The department should be judicious in installing signages across the state. In the event of an Emergency, the response team needs to reach the spot as soon as possible to move the victims for medical assistance, etc.
