High Court seeks clarity from govt over use and allocation of District Mineral Funds

Digital Goa, Jan 8 – High Court has told Goa govt to explain within 3 weeks, the criteria based on which approval was granted to use of District Mineral Fund(DMF) for various projects and works. The Court has also asked the govt to file an affidavit explaining the procedure to be followed, timeline, cases which are considered for allocation of funds etc. The court has also asked the govt to set up a Secretariat to manage the affairs of DMF. Court also told the govt to put more details on the website regarding the use of funds. The matter is kept for hearing after 5 weeks. Govt is asked to file reply within 3 weeks while petitioner in the PIL Writ Petition in which the order came has been permitted to file rejoined after 2 weeks.
