Digital Goa, May 15 – Goa government has imposed an immediate ban on all official foreign visits by public servants funded wholly or partially by the government exchequer, citing the prevailing global situation and the need to conserve foreign exchange reserves. An office memorandum issued by the Finance Department on May 14 stated that the decision follows the recent appeal made by PM Narendra Modi in view of the global scenario. The order further states that all approvals already granted for official foreign visits stand cancelled with immediate effect. The restrictions have come into force immediately and will remain in effect until further orders.
