Govt to put in Rs 1819 crore as viability gap funding for Majhi Bus scheme

Digital Goa, May 27 – Expenditure of Rs 1819 crore will be incurred under the viability gap funding of the Majhi Bus scheme of hiring of private buses by Kadamba on selected routes. In the pilot phase, four routes have been selected – Panaji-Pond-Savordedm, Margao-Canacona, Margao-Quepem, Savordem-Sanguem. Under the Majhi Bus scheme, all the private buses on these routes will be hired by Kadamba. KTC conductor will collect the tickets while the driver will be employed by the owner of the bus. The scheme will be implemented on pilot basis for six months period.
