Digital Goa, Sept 11 – Goa University Teachers Association (GUTA) today held a protest in University campus demanding action against one student Shirish Parab and his two accomplices for obstructing and threatening University staff involved in student union elections. Large number of University teachers signed a memorandum condemning the repeated “goondagiri” by the trio within university campus. Speaking to the media, GUTA President Ramrao Wagh said that in a latest incident, Shirish Parab entered the office of Directorate of Students Welfare and Cultural Affairs (DSW) and threatened the staff. There is no visible action against the student despite repeated complaints to the authorities, he said and added that anyone can do this only with political patronage. Meanwhile, NSUI leaders have alleged that the said student is affiliated to ABVP and the two persons accompanying him also are ABVP members.
