Digital Goa, Sept 28 – High Court today asked Sunburn Music Festival and Rider Mania organisers to pay Comunidade of Anjuna balance amount of Rs 12.67 lakh and Rs 36.95 lakh within a period of 8 weeks from today. If the amounts are not paid within this period, they shall carry an interest of eight percent, the Court order given on the petition filed by the Gauncars/Zonnkars of the Comunidade of Anjuna states. The communidade had allowed the Rider Mania (14th to 22 Nov 2022) and Sunburn Music Festival(Dec 10, 2022 to Jan 10,2023 ) organisers to temporarily use 50,000 sq mtr land for 9 days and 1.42 lakh sq mtr land for 30 days . General body of the Comunidade of Anjuna had resolved to charge Rs 16 lakh and Rs 75 lakh to the organisers for temporary use of the land. However the Administrator and the State Government reduced the charges payable by the organisers to Rs 3.32 lakh and Rs 38.04 lakh and this reduced amount was paid by the organisers as fees. High Court today quashed and set aside this decision of the administrator and the State Govt to reduce the charges and directed the organisers to make payment as per the original decision of the Communidade general body and pay the balance amount within 8 weeks. HC has further clarified that until the amounts are paid or recovered govt will not consider granting approval to the Sunburn organisers for holding the music festival.
