Illegal call centre targeting US citizens busted in South Goa; six arrested

Digital Goa, July 17 – Cyber Crime Police Station has arrested six persons after busting an illegal call centre in South Goa that allegedly targeted US citizens by posing as agents of a loan company named “Payday.” The call centre was allegedly being operated by Visvadipsinh Harisingh Jadav (29), a resident of Bhavnagar, Gujarat, along with five employees from Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. All have been arrested. Police said the accused lured victims with promises of instant loans and fraudulently collected payments through Apple, Macy’s, Green Dot MoneyPak, Razer Gold and Xbox gift cards. During the July 16 raid, officers seized six laptops, six headsets, six Apple iPhones and a router worth around ₹8 lakh.
