IMD issues yellow alert till July 29

    Digital Goa, July 26 – IMD, Goa Centre, has forecast continued heavy rainfall and gusty winds across Goa over the next week, with yellow alert issued from July 26 to July 29. Heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds of 40–50 kmph is very likely at several places across Goa, states the forecast.
    Moderate rainfall recorded in parts of Goa; Valpoi receives highest rainfall
    Digital Goa, July 26 – Moderate rainfall was recorded in several parts of Goa during the 24-hour period ending at 8.30 am on Sunday, with Valpoi receiving the highest rainfall of 29.1 mm, according to IMD. Other areas that recorded moderate rainfall included Dharbandora (28.2 mm), Ponda (28 mm), Canacona (27.2 mm), Sanguem (17.5 mm) and Sankhali (15.6 mm). Light rainfall was reported from Ela (Old Goa) with 15.2 mm, followed by Margao (13 mm), Pernem (11.2 mm), Quepem (10.8 mm), Panaji (9.6 mm), Mapusa (7.2 mm), Dabolim (6 mm) and Mormugao (3.2 mm).
