India to see investment of $67 billion in energy sector: PM Modi

    Digital Goa, Feb 6 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited the world to invest in India’s energy sector during his inaugural address at India Energy Week 2024. “Today India offers opportunities for $67 billion investment as we move from 6% to 15% of natural gas share in our energy mix,” said PM during the launch. The event is expected to witness the participation of around 17 Energy ministers from different countries, 35,000 plus attendees and more than 900 exhibitors. It will have six dedicated country pavilions – Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, the UK and the USA. A special Make in India Pavilion is also being organized to showcase innovative solutions which Indian MSMEs are spearheading in the energy sector ONGC’s Integrated Sea Survival Training Centre at Betul with facilities to train 10,000 to 15,000 personnel annually was also inaugurated by PM today. The center offers some of the most rigorous & intense emergency response training in the world in simulated & controlled harsh weather conditions to all personnel who operate over water including India’s oil soldiers, oil workers across the world & other personnel from civil & defence fields.
