Digital Goa, July 19 – Fast Track and POCSO Court in Goa has sentenced a 19-year-old youth from Jharkhand to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1.70 lakh for the kidnapping and sexual assault of a minor girl from Mormugao taluka in 2024. The incident came to light when relatives of the minor girl lodged a complaint at Vasco police station after the girl was abducted in March 2024. The victim was traced to Punjab, and the accused, a 19-year-old originally from Jharkhand, was arrested in April 2024.
