Digital Goa, Jan 10 – Minister and Panaji MLA Babush Monserrate today said that he will personally ensure that all Smart City works are completed by May 31. “I will be personally monitoring the works on day to day basis,” he said. He was speaking to media after the review meeting called by CM regarding Smart City works.

Babush blamed the erstwhile Smart City MD and ‘old friend’ Consultants appointed by late CM Manohar Parrikar for the mess in Smart City works. Crores have been siphoned by the consultant and we are paying the price for their wrong doings, he alleged. Parrikar who was the MLA of Panaji for 25 years did not do any development and also brought in Casinos, Babush further alleged. Panaji Mayor Rohit Monserrate who also attended the meeting said that all the deadlines related to Smart City works have been revised. “CM has instructed all the departments to finish their work before the monsoons,”said Rohit. Work will be carried out as per the new plan, he added.
