Mopa Airport handled over 30 lakh passengers in first year of its operation

    Digital Goa, Jan 4 – Manohar International Airport(MIA) at Mopa has handled over 30 lakh passengers since its inauguration on Jan 5,2023. The airport now connects to 25 domestic and 4 international destinations. All domestic operated airlines like Indigo, Akasa Air, Vistara & Spicejet are servicing at Mopa, International destinations are being served by Air India, Oman Air, Indigo & Tui. The number of domestic destinations connected to Goa have reached 29, up from 14 before MIA operations began. The ongoing Phase 3 Stage 1 expansion, aiming to reach approximately 8 million passengers per annum, is set to be completed before the Winter schedule of 2024. Since initiating cargo services in January 2023, MIA’s temperature-controlled cargo terminal has processed around 750 metric tons cargo, from pharmaceuticals to vegetables in the first 11 months of operation.
