MSME office will be set up in Goa: Union Minister Rane

    Digital Goa, Jan 6 – Ministry Of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises will set up its office in Goa, announced Union MSME Minister Narayan Rane. All information related to schemes, technology, business will be made available to Goans at this office, he added.

    ▪️  *96 % industries in Goa in Micro category*

    Noting that around 96% of the industries in the State are in the micro category, the Union Minister stated that there is immense potential for growth in the sector. He challenged all the micro industries to grow to the small category and all small industries to grow to medium category. Goa should not depend only on mining and tourism, he added.The Union Minister said though at Rs 4.5 lakh Goa has high per capita income compared to other States in the country, its citizens should be looking to match the levels attained by Developed Nations. Rane said that the center has allotted funds to the tune of Rs 5 lakh crore to the MSME Ministry post covid. Pointing out that there is no dearth of funds, he advised people of the state to take up initiatives to set up industries here in Goa. He was addressing the Goa MSME Adhiveshan in Panaji today. CM Pramod Sawant urged representatives of MSME sector in Goa to utilize all the schemes and incentives launched by both the Central and State Governments and grow both their businesses and the economy of Goa.
