Authentic tales with local flavour more likely to receive global recognition: Nawazuddin Siddiqui
“Rautu ki Beli,” a Hindi film, directed by Anand Surapur has its Gala Premiere at the 54th International Film Festival of India in Goa today. The film based in Rautu ki Beli, an idyllic town in hilly north India, takes its audience on an investigative journey with Inspector Negi after a school warden is found dead in the town.
Interacting with the media at the Press Conference organized by PIB, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the lead actor of Rautu ki Beli said that the films that depict the authentic tales of local flavor from across country will receive world recognition; the more local, the more global.
Answering a question about choosing a role in a film, Nawazuddin Siddiqui said that I do not want to confine myself only to a certain type of characters, and I would prefer diversity of characters.
He further said that while playing any character, he tries to live the life of the character to the point that the character’s life and his own life merges into one.
“I would like to play the character of spiritual guru Osho if opportunity comes”, said actor Siddiqui when asked about a character that he looks forward to play in future.
Answering a question about his inspiration for filmmaking, Director, Anand Surapur said that the passion for storytelling and unique ideas are the main source of my inspiration.
Shariq Patel, CEO of Zee Studios and screen play writer of the film Rautu ki Beli said that the film is a genre-breaker in terms of its treatment of its characters, and it is a unique murder mystery.
While talking about the release of the film, he said that the movie will be available on Zee 5 in the early part of 2024.
