New 90 days deadline to apply for regularisation of unauthorised structures starts from today

    Digital Goa, Oct 4- Goa Regularisation of Unauthorised Construction (Third Amendment) Bill, 2023, which offers citizens a fresh deadline of 90 days within which to submit applications for the regularisation of unauthorised constructions shall come into force from today i.e. Oct 4, states a notification issued by the govt. “In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 1 of the Goa Regularisation of Unauthorized Construction (Third Amendment) Act, 2023 (Goa Act 36 of 2023), the Government of Goa hereby appoints the 4th day of October, 2023 as the date on which the provisions of the said Act shall come into force,” states the notification. The Act itself was enforced to make a provision for the regularisation of certain unauthorised constructions that were built on certain lands in Goa before February 28, 2014, and permitted applications made under sub-section I of section 3 of the Act with the time limit specified. The original time limit was 180 days, which has been subsequently extended over the years.
