Digital Goa, Oct 8 – CM Pramod Sawant expressed concern over the rising number of mental illness cases in the state. Currently, one in ten people requires mental health treatment, and this number is increasing, he said. He added that family members often abandon their loved ones outside the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour (IPHB), and they are then cared for by Provedoria centres. Around 400 people are currently receiving treatment in 10 to 12 such centres, he added.
