Digital Goa, May 13- Strong opposition has emerged against the BJP-led government’s suggestion for a nuclear power plant in Goa, with leaders from the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) calling the move dangerous and unacceptable.GPCC President Amit Patkar called the proposal “a direct attack on our land, livelihoods and legacy.” Echoing the sentiment, AAP Goa President Amit Palekar also voiced strong objections. “We totally oppose this project,” he said, urging the government to explore safer, sustainable alternatives like solar energy instead of nuclear power. Both parties have warned of public resistance if the proposal moves ahead. Union Minister for Power Manohar Lal Khattar who was on Goa visit had informed yesterday that the possibility of setting up a nuclear power plant in Goa was discussed during a review meeting with Goa govt.
