Digital Goa, June 2 – CM Pramod Sawant said that the Union Government has assured over ₹250 crore for improvement works at the Anjunem Dam and the repair and renovation of its canal network. Provisional sanction has been accorded, he said. Sawant met Union Jal Shakti Minister C R Patil in New Delhi on June 1. While speaking to media about his Delhi visit, CM said that proposals for the cleanup and rejuvenation of rivers and water bodies, particularly the Sal River and St Inez Creek were raised before Patil. Union Minister assured that the Centre would consider the proposals positively once DPRs for the projects are submitted, CM added.
Sawant also informed that he met MoEF & CC Minister Bhupen Yadav and discussed with him Goa related issues which are pending with the ministry. He has promised to resolve the issues, said CM. When queried if ST Reservation issue was discussed in Delhi, he said “ST Reservation process if on continuously, they have many demands,” said Sawant.
