Dec 31- Goa witnessed a 5.47% decline in road accidents in 2024, with 2,660 accidents reported compared to 2,814 in 2023, according to data released by the Goa Police. Till date, 3,03,478 motor vehicle challans were issued to traffic violators, resulting in fines amounting to Rs 20.53 crore. Additionally, recommendations for the suspension of 32,536 driving licenses were sent to Regional Transport Offices to address violations and ensure stricter compliance. Authorities also took action against violations reported online through 364 social media posts.
