Digital Goa, 28 June – The Goa State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) has rejected the application for the Environmental Clearance for construction of residential villas in Chopdem village, Pernem taluka. The proposal involved a total area of 307,586 sq. m and 600 sq. m respectively. However, the application was made for a smaller portion — 274,986 sq. m. SEIAA found that the plot had not been formally partitioned as per prevailing rules, and the details submitted by the project proponent were inconsistent with existing regulations. Based on these discrepancies and recommendations from the Goa-SEAC, the Authority decided to reject the proposal.
