Alleging that some govt people only have encroached on roads due to which the road widths are not proper, Gadkari advised Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Chief Secretary to get the proposed roads measured before starting the works and send notices to the encroachers. “If they do not demolish on their own, I will arrange to get the encroachments removed using bulldozers,” he asserted. He further opined that compound wall of Navy building is likely to have encroached on the road. Get the roads measured and send legal notices to all concerned, he instructed Goa govt. He also asked CM to call for a meeting to handle flying zone difficulties. He also asked the govt to expedite land acquisition processes for the various ongoing and proposed projects. Gadkari informed that Rs 650 crore worth Cuncolim to Bendodem road project, Rs 3300 crore worth Karnataka border to Khandepar road project, Rs 750 crore worth Bhoma to Old Goa project and the Rs 1200 crore worth Borim bridge project are at the DPR and land acquisition phases. He also asked Goa govt to propose design for Rs 120 ring road on the outskirts of the state, avoiding forests, house acquisition and digging of tunnels.
