Digital Goa, June 7 – South District Police has claimed that the crime rate in South District has showed major decline till May 31 this year compared to the corresponding period last year. A total 359 crimes were reported in South District during last five months, which is 36 percent lower, as compared to 561 crimes reported last year during the same period. Heinous crimes also registered decline this year with 3 murders reported this year compared to 11 reported last year. However, there were equal number of 14 rapes reported both the years. The detection has also been 100 percent this year in all heinous crimes as compared to 81% murder cases were detected last year. 35 cases of hurt were booked this year as against 44 last year.
