Southwest monsoon likely to reach Kerala by May 26; Goa may see onset in early June

Digital Goa, May 15 – India Meteorological Department (IMD) on May 15 said the southwest monsoon is likely to set in over Kerala on May 26, earlier than the normal onset date of June 1. With the general trend of southwest monsoon typically reaching Goa around four to seven days after its onset in Kerala, the state could see the arrival of monsoon in early June, if the current progression remains on track. The IMD said the forecast carries a model error margin of ± four days, meaning the onset over Kerala could be upto 4 days before or after the announced onset date of May 26.
