Digital Goa, August, 9 – The Town and Country Planning Department has notified the conversion of 9,73,208 sq m of land at Sao-Jorge Island in Mormugao and Gonsua and Majorda in Salcete into Non-Developable Areas in the Regional Plan 2021 under Section 39A of the TCP Act. Of the total area, 6,63,802 sq m is at Sao-Jorge Island, Mormugao. The changes were approved by the government following recommendations of the Goa Town and Country Planning Board at its meeting on June 29, after considering suggestions received from the public, states notification issued in this regards. The notified alterations will be subject to the outcome of PIL Writ Petitions pending before the High Court in this regards, the notification adds.
