Feb 12- In the month of December 2024, road accidents claimed 24 lives in Goa – 14 in North Goa and 10 in South Goa, as per the statistics released by the Directorate of Transport. Of these 21 i.e. nearly 87.5% were on two wheelers -16 were rider and 5 were pillion riders. 2 pedestrians also died in 2 different accidents. 39 persons were grievously injured in the 243 accidents which occurred in the month. As per the report, there were 243 road accident of which 23 were Fatal Accident (North Goa – 13 and South Goa – 10), 26 Grievous Accidents (North Goa – 10 and South Goa – 16), 35 Minor Accidents (North Goa – 10 and South Goa – 25) and 159 Non – Injury Accidents (North Goa – 90 and South Goa – 69).
