    Digital Goa, July 9 – Given that the Mahadayi PRAWAH (Progressive River Authority for Welfare and Harmony) Authority has been formed, govt of India can’t give permission to Karnataka to go ahead with the Mhadei diversion project, claimed CM Pramod Sawant today. Mhadei matter is listed for hearing before Supreme Court tomorrow. Advocate General of Goa other advocates appointed by the Goa govt are already in Delhi, he said. “ We will present our side very strongly. We have full faith in the Supreme Court as well as the Mhadei PRAWAH set up by the Govt of India. Whatsoever Karnataka says, nothing will happen,” Sawant asserted. Center had notified the Mahadayi PRAWAH authority in May this year.

    Matters related to Mahadayi Water Tribunal order and diversion of Mhadei river through the Kalasa – Bhandura projects are listed for hearing on the Supreme Court board for July 10. The SLP(C) No. 19312/2019 filed by Goa govt against Karnataka, SLP(C) No. 32517/2018 filed by Maharashtra govt against Goa are likely to be heard by the apex court tomorrow.
