Dec 18- The state cabinet on Wednesday granted an extension till 2027 for offshore casinos to continue operations in river Mandovi. There are six offshore casinos operating in the river. “This is the last extension,” claimed CM Pramod Sawant. Earlier six monthly extensions were given, now we are giving extension till 2027, informed Sawant. Govt had earlier tentatively identified four sites for the purpose of relocating these offshore casinos. However, casinos continue to get extension from the govt year on year to remain in the Mandovi river. Over the past 13 years or so similar extensions have been given for over 23 odd times.
