Dec 23- Ernakulam police arrested Suleiman alias Siddiqui Khan and his wife Sarika Khan two days back based on tip off from Goa Police, informed DGP Goa Alok Kumar. Suleiman will be brought to Goa today. Total 14 teams with more than 70 police personnel of Crime Branch, SIT, Cyber Cell and North Goa district and Crime Branch HQ worked in coordination to trace the accused, informed police.
▪️ We wanted to make doubly sure he was same person: DGP
When queried as to why the news of arrest which occurred 2 days back was not shared with the media, DGP said, “We wanted to be doubly sure that he is the same person.” SP Rahul Gupta said being a notorious criminal, we wanted to ensure that he is brought to Goa first. Suleiman allegedly travelled to 8 different places in the last 10 days including Hubli, Bangalore, Mangalore, Mumbai, Kochi etc in an attempt to evade the police. When Ernakulam police went to interrogate his wife, Siddiqui was found at his Kerala residence, said police.
▪️ Police collecting all evidences to make the case watertight
In house search panchanama conducted at 4 flats including office of the accused Suleiman in Karwar and Kerala, 24 mobiles, 3 cars, 3 bikes, 16 Bank Passbook and 30 Cheque books among other things were seized, informed police. SP Gupta asserted that police are collecting all evidences to make a strong case against him to ensure that he is not released from jail.
