Jan 9- Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane has issued an alert regarding an individual impersonating a Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) official in the Calangute area, demanding bribes from food business operators. The individual, fluent in Konkani, has been using aliases such as Soiroo Naiktuenkar and Sarvesh Naik Tuvemkar. Reports indicate that he has made telephonic calls to business owners, threatening them with serious consequences unless they pay cash. The calls have reportedly been made from two numbers: 8747850885 and 9356278836. FDA office has no affiliation with such a person, clarified Rane. He further stated that he has directed the Director of FDA to file a FIR and ensure strict action is taken against the culprit. The FDA has appealed to the public to report any encounters or information about the impersonator to the authorities immediately.
