Jan 22- A X (formerly twitter) war has broken out between CM Pramod Sawant and Goa Forward leader Vijai Sardesai over statement made by the latter that first CM of Goa Bhausaheb Bandokar had allergy towards Goa’s Asmitai (identity). Expressing disgruntlement over ‘non recognition’ of the historic poll day on Jan 16 despite assurances on the floor of the House that the Opinion Poll day would be celebrated as a state level event, Vijai had said, “Our CM has washed his hands off the opinion poll, and therefore, rejected our identity, history, and everything Goan.” Vijai had also added that the Goa’s first CM Bhausaheb Bandodkar also had an ‘allergy’ to states distinct identity, and that is why he had got the opinion poll done. Reacting to Vijai’s statement, CM Pramod Sawant said, “Claiming that Bhausaheb made a mistake or harbored an allergy to Goa’s identity is not just a misrepresentation but a blatant and disgraceful insult to the legacy of Goa’s first Chief Minister”. Stating that the real problem lies with Vijai Sardesai and his inflated ego, CM said that he unequivocally condemns this anti-Bhausaheb and anti-Goa rhetoric in its entirety. The locking of horns between the two political leaders was a fallout of the statement made by AAP MLA Venzy Viegas praising CM Sawant and likening him to Bhausaheb Bandodkar. “ If we, as the opposiiton start praising the CM, the people of Goa will question us,” asserted Vijai.
