One arrested in Arambol murder case, locals demand CCTV footage

Jan 27- Police have arrested one person in the alleged murder of 37-year-old Amar Bandekar at Arambol. If there are more persons involved, they too will be arrested, assured SP North Akshat Kaushal. The deceased who had gone for walk on the beach was allegedly attacked by a group of shack workers allegedly over some petty matter, leading to his death. “As per the information we have received, they had entered into argument over some issues. After the argument they got into a fist fight. After that, later on one person succumbed to injuries,” he informed. As per preliminary investigation no weapon was used during the assault, he added. Meanwhile, locals marched onto Mandrem police station demanding thorough investigation into the alleged murder yesterday night. They have demanded that the CCTV footage be given to them and murder charges be slapped on the arrested accused. They also demanded that cases be registered against all those involved in the assault.
