Prashasan Stambh to now come up at Chimbel; cabinet clears land transfer

Digital Goa, April 23 – The proposed Prashasan Stambh, set to be Goa’s tallest building, has now been relocated to Chimbel after earlier proposed sites in Panaji and Porvorim were changed. The state cabinet has approved the transfer of 25,000 sq m of land at Chimbel from the IT Department to the General Administration Department for its construction. The landmark building is planned to be 75 metres tall, with 15 floors, and is estimated to cost over Rs 300 crore.
CM Pramod Sawant also announced that 6250 sq mtr land at Chimbel in the same survey number, again belonging to the IT department will be transferred to Tourism dept to set up tourism related amenities. Sawant was speaking to media persons after the cabinet meeting.
Other decisions taken in the Cabinet meeting
▪️ Cabinet approved transfer of 1.6 lakh sq mtr land to Goa College of Veterinary and Animal Science at Curti and Kodar Agriculture Farm.
▪️ Approval for construction of Tertiary Care Cancer Center at Goa Medical College at the cost of approx Rs 310 crore.
