Panaji, May 7, 2025 – The Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) will conduct a public hearing on the Goa government’s proposed electricity tariff hike on Friday, May 9, at 10 am at the Mini Conference Hall of Institute Menezes Braganza, near the Police Headquarters, opposite Vidyut Bhavan, Panaji.The Goa Electricity Department has proposed a 5.95% increase in power tariffs across all consumer categories for the financial year 2025–26. Additionally, the department has suggested further hikes of 5.64% in 2026–27 and 4.88% in 2027–28 under the Multi-Year Tariff (MYT) framework. JERC has invited objections and suggestions from the public ahead of the hearing.
