Digital Goa , May 15 – Members of the Together For Mahadayi Movement (TFMM) held a protest outside NIO, Dona Paula, expressing their dissent against a recent report by NIO scientists concerning the Mahadayi river. The demonstration was led by RGP leaders Manoj Parab and St. Andre MLA Viresh Borkar. Protesters criticised the NIO report, alleging that it undermines Goa’s position in the ongoing interstate water-sharing conflict over the Mahadayi river. They demanded greater transparency and accountability from scientific institution over the report. The NIO report has claimed that the proposed water diversions by Karnataka would have minimal impact on the overall river flow and estuarine ecology, remaining within natural variability.
