Assam native human trafficking accused nabbed at Old Goa

Digital Goa, July 1 – In a case of human trafficking, 34-year-old Assam native Pinku Roy was arrested in Old Goa on June 29 by the Goa Police, with assistance from the West Bengal Anti Human Trafficking Unit. Roy, who worked as a waiter in a restaurant in Old Goa, was apprehended following a complaint filed by his wife at Kalimpong police station in West Bengal. According to the complaint, Pinku allegedly conspired with a restaurant owner from Karnataka—where the couple had previously worked—to sell his wife and their infant child. Based on this information, a joint operation was launched, leading to his arrest in Goa. The West Bengal Anti Human Trafficking Unit has obtained Roy’s transit remand and has proceeded to West Bengal along with the victim.
