Digital Goa, July 19 – A woman from Zuarinagar, Sancoale, was cheated of rs 2.31 lakh in an online work-from-home scam. According to a complaint filed by the victim, she was contacted via WhatsApp and Telegram by unknown persons offering her a job to rate hotels. She was added to a Telegram group named “Merchant Welfare Task” and convinced to invest money in various bank accounts under the guise of completing tasks. The money was transferred from both her and her husband’s accounts between May 4 and May 24.
