Trade license rules revised; Panchayats can now issue licenses for up to 10 years

Goa government has revised the trade license format to allow village panchayats to issue or renew trade licenses for durations of one, three, five, or ten years, based on the applicant’s preference. Earlier, licenses were granted only until the end of the financial year and renewed annually, causing inconvenience to entrepreneurs. The new format, approved by the government, aligns with the Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP) and is to be strictly implemented by all village panchayats, states a circular issued by Directorate of Panchayats.
