Veteran fisherwoman Cristalina, a well-known face at the Panaji Municipal Market, shared insights on the current fish availability and pricing trends. She noted that while the supply of local catch has slightly improved with better weather, prices remain high due to fuel costs and fewer traditional fishermen venturing out to sea. Cristalina also raised concerns about competition from fish imported from outside Goa, which she said affects the income of local vendors. “We’ve seen many changes over the years, but the bond Goans have with their fish remains strong,” she added.
